Heather and I are excited to share with everyone that, at some point in the next year or so, our family will be growing!

The decision to become parents is lot like a journey. There are resources to pull together, maps to be charted, questions to be asked and a community of support to seek out. It is with that in mind that we share this news with you, our community.

After much prayer-and conversations of discernment- Heather and I have entered into the process of adoption. This process is not easy but it is exciting. It’s exciting to know that our child is out there, on their own journey toward us. It’s exciting to begin thinking of our family to come. It’s exciting to think about the love we already have for our child who will bring so much to our lives- and for what we’ll bring to theirs.

We know many of you will have questions and we do want to say, from the beginning, that the reasons we have for growing our family in this way are our own. We will say that we are thankful that our community (you who are reading this) love and care for us and will, in turn, love and care for our child. We will need this support as we take classes, think through where we’ve been and where we’re headed, and prepare our home to be a warm, safe place for our child to grow.

We do want you to know (to keep you all from being completely caught off guard!), that we are adopting between the the ages of 4-10 years old. This is something we’re excited about and look forward to!

We ask that you join us in praying: both for us as we journey toward parenthood, as well as for our child who is out there, living their own life. Pray for us as we move toward one another.

Thanks for sharing this journey with us. We look forward to sharing, with you all, our moments of life as our family grows and moves forward. We are grateful for the community of love and support that surrounds us and we know we will need you as we learn, discern, and grow.
